Yvonne Edwards

Yvonne was born in Ealing in 1949, she attended Bournmouth Art College studying Graphic Design before moving to Bridport where she learned the art of photographic silk screen printing. After 10 years she moved back to Weymouth and worked for a local printing firm where she learned all the aspects of four colour film processing, plate making and computer graphics. Opening a gallery in Weymouth provided the opportunity to paint professionally and she soon built a reputation for watercolour portrayals of local scenes. The coast of Dorset continues to provide great inspiration and along with her husband, Plymouth artist Ray Goodey, she has moved back to Bridport where they have opened the Red Plum Gallery. Her work continues to be varied and innovative, painting harbour scenes, animals and even rock stars, often using striking colours and textures in mixed media.
