David Gray

Coventry born David started his career in engineering as a design draughtsman whilst studying technical illustration at Coventry College of Art. In 1970 he moved to Plymouth, still in engineering working on the design and construction of all types of boats from the simplest up to super yachts. Inspired by the Westcountry coastline and subjects he took the decision in 2000 to move to St. Mawes in Cornwall to tutor art classes and work full time on his own art.
He produces vibrant paintings using acrylics with textures such as ripped denim embedded into the paint. His work is now collected and shown worldwide.
