M&D Glass

We are Barbara and Kelly, MOTHER & DAUGHTER GLASS, and our love of glass and its use as an artistic medium has blossomed into the fused glass artwork that we produce today.

Over 4/5 years we have gained City & Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 in Decorative Stained Glass.

All our work is designed and made in a small laundry room in Kelly’s home where we work ‘cheek to cheek’ with the washing machine, our precious kiln ‘Kitty’ and of course each other!

Although sometimes a ‘tight fit’ our close relationship enables us to understand and work well with each other as we create our artwork in our ‘happy place’.

We draw our inspiration from nature and as we live in Devon the sea is a very big part of that inspiration; we try to capture the movement and ‘roll’ of the wave in our Sea Inspired work where the use of frit and layers of glass give texture and we hope make our work extremely tactile.
